Are they harmful to my red wigglers? The red wigglers seem to be decreasing in number (they have the white things) while the night crawlers are multiplying like mad. They are in seperate bins. Can't Rememberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03273174870738042738noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9072418381301296829.post-23248541041912917252009-05-28T21:16:30.120-07:002009-05-28T21:16:30.120-07:00Where is the place in idaho for $10 worms? :)Where is the place in idaho for $10 worms? :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9072418381301296829.post-78731721643130833322009-03-17T18:02:00.000-07:002009-03-17T18:02:00.000-07:00We have compost worms in bins in the garage during...We have compost worms in bins in the garage during the winter. When the warm weather arrives they go back outside.

It's a great way to process kitchen waste and then we use the castings in the veggie garden.

You won't be sorry if you decide to get some red wrigglers and feed them your stuff.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9072418381301296829.post-18311756616419232592009-03-17T09:07:00.000-07:002009-03-17T09:07:00.000-07:00I have been doing the wormy thing for 2 years now....I have been doing the wormy thing for 2 years now. I have been keeping them in a bin in the house, but took a chance this fall and left a few in my compost pile. Was rooting around in it day before yesterday and saw that they made it through our winter! I have a great start with the indoor pile for composted dirt, will use that to amend my garden this spring. Great blog by the way, visit it most everyday!madmaddyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10116427866117667373noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9072418381301296829.post-21935595583265225132009-03-17T04:26:00.000-07:002009-03-17T04:26:00.000-07:00When I was a child, we raised rabbits and under th...When I was a child, we raised rabbits and under the rabbit coop, Dad built a pit with rock sides. There we placed the red worms along with our compost. The rabbit coop had a wire bottom so their waste was added too.

Two industries in one. We made a liitle money selling the rabbits and the worms and the extra bonus was the wonderful compost for the garden.Gailhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04219479223227928561noreply@blogger.com
